The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) took delivery of a second CN235-220 maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) from state-owned aerospace company PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) in a handover ceremony at Surabaya on 12 March 2014.
The Indonesian defence ministry acquired three CN235-200 MPAs, in a contract worth USD80 million, in December 2009. The first aircraft was delivered in 2013; the third is scheduled for delivery by the end of June 2014.
The CN235-220 is powered by twin General Electric CT7-9C turboprop engines, and can attain a maximum speed of 230 kt. The nine-crew aircraft has an endurance of nine hours and a service ceiling of 25,000 ft.
